Windhoek, 12 October 2023 -Telecom Namibia, NPTH and the Namibia Public Workers Union (NAPWU) concluded the 2022/2023 wages and salaries negotiations today, 12 October 2023. A signing ceremony took place today, 12 October 2023, at the Telecom Namibia Head Office in Windhoek.
In regards to Telecom Namibia the agreement provides for an inflationary adjustment of 4% across the board for all TN employees, effective from 1 October 2022. The housing qualifying amount has also been increased by N$100,000 across the board.
In addition, the daily allowance has been increased by N$50, the subsistence and travelling allowance for hotel stay and private stay has been increased by N$45, and the normal standby allowance has been increased by N$6.
The employer medical aid contribution, transport allowance, and ICT telephone rebates for all employees and pensioners remain at the current rates.
The agreement also upholds the provisions of the Namibian Labour Act of 2007 as regards to severance pay at early retirement.
The signing parties were:
- Dr. Stanley Shanapinda, Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Namibia, on behalf of Telecom Namibia
- Mrs. Kristofine Naunyango: Acting Chief Executive Officer and Company Secretary – Namibia Post and Telecom Holdings (NPTH)
- Mr. Petrus Nevonga, General Secretary of the Namibia Public Workers Union, on behalf of NAPWU
