POSITION: TECHNICIAN: COPPER AND FIBRE x 1
REPORTING TO: OPERATIONAL MANAGER
DIVISION: FIELD SERVICES
GRADE: C3
DUTY STATION: KATIMA MULILO

KEY PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to perform the technical tasks required to terminate, maintain and rectify faults on the various copper and fibre optic plants as well as to perform other related duties as required

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS WOULD INCLUDE:

  •  Terminate and join copper cables as well as related infrastructure as per work order following technical instructions
  •  Terminate and splice fibre optic cables as well as related infrastructure as per work order following technical instructions
  •  Pressurise and install predictive and preventative systems on cables
  •  Verify copper and fibre leads information and forward correct information for recording
  •  Report network discrepancies
  •  Perform standby duties and overtime work as required
  •  Troubleshoot, diagnose and rectify faults as per work order following technical instructions
  •  Adhere to all relevant company policies
